Thomas A. Medeiros, 69, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, He was the loving husband of Cathleen S. Medeiros.
Tom was born and raised in Fall River and was the son of the late Manuel Medeiros and Rosalie (Viens) Medeiros.
Tom dedicated his life to service to his country and served a long and distinguished career in both the US Air Force as a jet mechanic crew chief and later in the US Army National Guard, retiring after 27 years of service as an Inspector General. During his time in the service, Tom traveled the world and saw so many things. Tom also enjoyed shooting sports and was a longtime member of the Fall River Rod and Gun Club of Westport. He also was a member of the Bristol County Dart League and enjoyed camping and spending time with his family and many many friends. Tom took great care of his home and served as the property manager of his building in Fall River for over 20 years. He was a kind man with a great personality and would do anything for the neighborhood kids who affectionately called him "Uncle Tom".
Tom is survived by his seven daughters, Stacie Furtado, Debra Pavao, Tammy Corson, Karen St. Martin, Heather Bassett, Chloe Lacasse, and Sherry Dupras; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Phil and Mike Medeiros and sister, Elaine Scanlon; many nieces and nephews and a large, loving extended family.
He was the brother of the late Raymond Medeiros and Claudette Beaulieu.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, November 25, 2019, from 4-7pm, in the Hathaway Home for Funerals, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River.
Burial with military honors at the MA National Cemetery will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Tom's memory, may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1325 Belmont St., Brockton, MA 02301 or to the Southcoast VNA Hospice Department 200 Mill Road Fairhaven MA 02719.
