Thomas MacMillan

Thomas “Tom” MacMillan, age 62, of New Bedford passed away at home on Wednesday, March 15, 2023. He was born in Brockton and was the son of the late Donald and Effie (Willis) MacMillan.

Tom graduated from Whitman-Hanson Regional High School with the class of 1979. He attended Southern Florida School of Aeronautical Engineering to study flight. He then worked as an engineer for many years at Cannistraro. Tom had a passion for aeronautical engineering; he achieved remarkable excellence in his professional life. He was an accomplished sportsman who excelled in ocean diving and fishing. Tom also enjoyed camping and being outdoors; he especially liked his time at “Camp MacMillan” in Chester, ME. He also helped establish and became a principle partner in Accountability Software Systems. and recreational lives, leaving a remarkable legacy behind him. 

Tom is survived by his siblings, Donna MacMillan and her spouse Bob Orsillo of Lewiston, ME, Paula Costa and her husband Peter of Dighton, and Michael MacMillan of Taunton; his nieces, nephews and many close friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend his visiting hours on Saturday, April 1, 2023 from 2pm -4pm in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave., Taunton. followed by a Prayer Service at 4pm in the funeral home. Interment will be private.
