Sheila R. (Kiernan) Freitas, 82, of Taunton passed away on Sunday, June 06, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late James Freitas. Sheila was born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Patrick and Rose (Sheridan) Kiernan. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School. Mrs. Freitas was a devoted homemaker and proudly raised three children. Sheila was a communicant of Annunciation of the Lord Church. She loved to travel to Ireland and especially to Cape Cod and stay at the Irish Village. Sheila enjoyed collecting Knick Knacks and cherished the time she spent with her family and friends. Survivors are her three daughters; Roseann M. Riley and her husband Paul of Taunton, Pamela Estano and her husband Bill of Raynham, and Cheryl A. Rau and her husband Jack of Dighton, nine grandchildren; Joseph, Dawn, Briana, Brian, Kaileen, Brendan, Billy, Matthew and Kaitlin; ten great-grandchildren; Derek, Avery, Hayley, Evan, Rylee, Ayden, Matthew, Alexis, Dawson and Drew. She was pre deceased by her sisters; Marguerite Kelly, Patricia Viveiros, and Eleanor Sanborn, and two brothers: John and William Kiernan.
Calling Hours for Mrs. Freitas will be held on Wednesday, June 09, 2021 from 4-7pm in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home. Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 9am from the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Avenue, Taunton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Annunciation of the Lord Church, First Street, Taunton. Burial to follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Taunton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Facial Coverings are suggested for those who are vaccinated and are required for individuals who are not fully vaccinated.
