Obituary

Russell W. Jepson, 90, of East Taunton passed away Thursday, May 5, 2022 at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford after a brief illness.

Born in Fairhaven he was the son of the late Frank and Florence (Porter) Jepson. Russell graduated from Fairhaven High School in 1949, where he played the trumpet in the band. He then graduated from the Mass College of Pharmacy in 1954 and was drafted into the Army as a pharmacist and medic and served in Germany from 1954-1956.

Russell owned three Pharmacy’s, two Fairhaven Pharmacy’s and the Seaport Pharmacy in Mattapoisett.  He served on the Fairhaven Board of Health and after selling his businesses, he worked at various pharmacies until he retired in 2010. Russell enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, watching the Red Sox and spending time at the beach.

He is survived by his daughters, Lynne A. Johnson of Wareham and Laurie J. Connolly of Rochester;  daughter in law, Angelina Jepson of Somerset;  five grandchildren, Jamie L. Connolly of Buzzard’s Bay, Alex D. Johnson of Mansfield, Craig F. Connolly of Middleboro, Nicole L. Johnson of Chestnut Hill and Ian A. Jepson of Somerset;  Also survived by his former wife, Anne W. Bernard of Mattapoisett;  Mr. Jepson was the father of the late Scott H. Jepson, Fire Chief of Somerset, MA and the brother of the late Donald D. Jepson.

In accordance with his wishes he will be cremated and a graveside service will be held Friday, May 27, 2022 at 12 pm in Riverside Cemetery, Fairhaven.  Arrangements are by the Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Fairhaven.  For memorial register please visit, www.hathawayfunerals.com.
