Obituary

It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Ronald Wendell Ellis on May 15, 2023 in Rhode Island. Predeceased by his beloved wife Jane. Ron was born April 7, 1949, in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, Canada. He is the son of the late Eileen Mitchell, and Wendell Ellis.

He is survived by his children Shayne, Jan (Drew) of Ottawa Canada, stepchildren Rudy Guzzetti (Pamela), Jim Guzzetti (Michelle) and Kerry Guzzetti of Massachusetts, sister Susan Ingram of Ottawa Canada, nephew Matt, grandchildren Brayden, Cole, Jillian, Cameron, and Evan as well as several cousins in his hometown of PEI.

Born in Canada, Ron worked for Foreign Affairs & relocated to Massachusetts where he met his beloved wife Jane who he spent many years with surrounded by their much-loved dogs. He started a small landscaping company where he enjoyed the connections he made throughout his community. Ron was an avid golfer and fan of the game throughout his life.  He enjoyed cheering on his beloved Boston Bruins & New England Patriots and was always game to talk sports. One of his highlights was being wheeled out onto the field at Gillette Stadium by his son Shayne during his recovery from a bad car accident.

His most profound achievement in later years was mentoring and helping others through the AA program. Through the guidance and support of his mentor and friend, Norm Peloquin he found much peace and purpose helping others, One Day at a Time.

His private services are under the care of Foley-Cook-Hatahway Funeral Home 126 South Main St. Attleboro.
