Obituary

Roger P. Bergeron, 88, of Fairhaven, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, after a period of declining health. He was the loving husband of 66 years to his devoted wife Lena C. (Cabral) Bergeron.

Born in New Bedford, son of the late Louis and Marie (Bedard) Bergeron, he grew up in New Bedford and settled in Fairhaven 58 years ago. He was a graduate of New Bedford Vocational High School and a communicant of St. Mary's Church, in Fairhaven.

Roger served in the Navy during the Korean War and later worked as a driver/salesman for Wonder Bread for many years. He was a member of the VFW Freetown Post, Panthers Club and many more organizations.

He is survived by his wife Lena; two sons, Mark Bergeron and his partner Jim Delilse of Fall River and Michael P. Bergeron and his wife Stephanie of Acushnet; three grandchildren, Jason, Nicholas and Cameron Bergeron; four great grandchildren; a brother, Raymond Bergeron; two sisters, Lorraine LeBlanc and Yvette Bergeron; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Bergeron was the brother of the late Germaine Booker, Rachel Beauregard, Annette Goodale and Irene Dumas.

Visitation will be Monday, February 3, 2020, from 9-10:30am, in the Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Fairhaven followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, at 11am, in St. Mary's Church, Fairhaven. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Fairhaven.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Boys Town or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
