Robert "Bob" David Rapoza Jr.

1954 ~ 2021 (age 66)

Obituary

Robert “Bob” David Rapoza Jr., beloved husband, Clamato Connoisseur, and self-appointed family DJ; passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 after a courageous and hard-fought battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Bob was the loving, but  sometimes overly affectionate husband of forty-five years to Vicky Lynn (Wyman) Rapoza.

Born in Alexandria, Virginia; Bob was the son of the late Robert Rapoza Sr., and Beverly (Joy) Berube. He honorably served his country during the Vietnam War with the United States Army. Bob worked for many years as an attendant for Taunton State Hospital.

Bobby was one of a kind. He loved shopping; whether it be at pawn shops, shoe shopping, the HSN stores, or doubling Vicky’s grocery budget at Detwilers. No one else got as much use out of a golf cart as Bob did; moving to Florida meant he had to have the coolest one in the community. He spent his retirement driving around the park, drinking secret beers, and playing his music over a speaker on his golf cart. Bobby faced one of his biggest fears and joined his family on a plane to Cancun; not without a few drinks first, and even learned to play Pokemon Go. He could play the piano, the harmonica, and tried his hand at learning the guitar; and he loved going fishing. Universal Studio’s rollercoasters and Disney’s rides were no match for Bob; and Harry Potter World had never seen a more proud Ravenclaw. Bob was the best husband, father, and grandpa that anyone could ever ask for. He was stubborn as all hell but was incredibly proud of his daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; he constantly bragged to all of his friends about their accomplishments.

Besides his wife Vicky; Bob leaves behind his beloved daughters; Paula J. Anderson and her husband Zac of Ruskin, Florida, and Niki L. Flannery and her husband Jay of Fall River, grandchildren; Kayla Gioranino and her husband Chris, Brian Wallentin, Amanda Wyman and her boyfriend Andrew, Ashtyn Haskins, Tyler Haskins, Kaitlyn Lesieur, and Alyssa Perley, great-grandchildren Brian Wallentin Jr., Lincoln Wallentin, Dalton Gioranino, Callia Gioranino, Norah Cordeiro and Olivia Cordeiro. He also leaves behind his nephew Albert Berube and his daughter Avery, cousin Duane Edgerly, brother-in-law Kenny Wyman, Midge Wyman, and  his best friends; Penny Murphy, Sebastion “Subbie” Ferris, and Tim. Bob was rejoined with his sister Missy Berube, brother-in-law Karl Wyman, mother-in-law Lucille Gauvin, and his beloved pets Gidget, and Tango as well as many other beloved family members and friends.

Calling Hours for Bob will be held on Monday, May 10, 2021 from 9am-11am in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Avenue Taunton; followed by a funeral service at 11am.
