BERKLEY, MA—Robert J. Whyte, 22, passed away at home surrounded by the love of his family, after a battle with cancer.
Born in Brockton, a son of Joseph E. and Kathleen E. (Foley) Whyte, Rob was a 2016 graduate of Somerset-Berkley Regional High School, and worked for A.A. Will Corp. as a member of the Laborers Union, Local 151. He played high school football, loved Boston sports and had taken up golf as a passion in recent years, and enjoyed a number of summers with family on Cape Cod. He was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart Church in New Bedford.
Besides his parents, he is survived by grandparents, Robert and Leona Foley and Nancy Whyte, all of Stoughton; a brother, Jake Whyte, and two sisters, Courtney and Alyson Whyte all of Berkley; as well as aunts and uncles. He was also preceded in death by his grandfather Henry Whyte.
A time of visitation will be held Wednesday, January 13 from 5-8 PM in the Hathaway Home for Funerals, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend, subject to the wearing of face masks and to capacity limits at the funeral home. Also, a funeral mass will be held Thursday at 11am in Holy Name of the Sacred Heart Church, New Bedford.
