Rich was fiercely independent. His wheelchair never defined him; it was a means to get about . His attention to detail in all his work was outstanding. He will be greatly missed & never forgotten.

I'm so sorry to hear about Richard's passing.   We worked in the same building and I enjoyed many conversations with him over the years.   My sympathy to the Horton family.

I had the pleasure and honor of working with Richard for the past 20 years.  He was extremely helpful with the software and hardware in our CAD lab and equipment in our other engineering labs.   He seemed to love what he did and generously spent seemingly endless hours helping students with their CAD projects over the years.  I will miss having him around, not just because of his valuable help, but because I enjoyed our frequent and casual conversations about numerous topics, especially his art.  May you rest in peace, Richard.
