Raymond R. DeMoura

Raymond R. DeMoura, 83, of Berkley, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2022 in the Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River.  He was the devoted husband of 63 years to Martha (Meier) DeMoura.

Born and raised in Berkley, he was the son of the late Antone DeMoura and the late Margaret (Blanchette) DeMoura.  

Along with his wife, Raymond is survived by his children; Mark DeMoura and his wife Brenda of Berkley, MA and Robert DeMoura and his wife Judy of Berkley, MA.  His grandchildren; Melissa Neumyer and her husband Raymond of East Taunton, MA, Megan DeMoura and her fiancé Karl Adkins of Taunton, MA and Carina DeMoura of Berkley, MA.  Raymond’s great grandchildren; Brady Neumyer, Caroline Neumyer and Hunter Adkins.  Raymond also leaves behind his sisters; Joyce Jones of Berkley, MA and Doreen Machado of East Taunton, MA and his brother Edward DeMoura of Dighton, MA.  And several nieces and nephews. Raymond was the brother of the late Margaret Young, the late Antone “Sonny” DeMoura, the late James DeMoura and the late John DeMoura. 

After attending Berkley schools, Raymond married the love of his life Martha in 1959.  He went on to open his own auto repair and towing company in Berkley.  He owned and operated Bob’s Auto Repair for over 50 years.  He had an affinity for cars, especially the classic cars.  He loved to go camping with Martha.  They made annual camping trips to Hershey Pennsylvania and Carlisle Pennsylvania. Vermont and Ohio were also some of places he loved to go camping.  He and Martha once took a camping trip along the entire distance of Route 66.  Raymond loved to go on adventures with his love.  He was a collector of unique things.  Antiques, and license plates are some of the items he enjoyed gathering.  Mostly, Raymond loved to be with his family and friends.  He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Funeral arrangements are private and have been entrusted to the care of Crapo Hathaway Funeral Home 350 Somerset Ave Taunton, MA 02780.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Raymond on Sunday, September 25, 2022 from 2-5pm at the Lakeville Eagles 217 County Street, Lakeville, MA 02347.
