On July 22nd 2021, our amazing, loving father, Pheap Thorng passed away after a long battle with cancer. His passing was extremely sudden.
Pheap Thorng was born on May 2, 1951 in Pursat Province of Cambodia. He fled the tragedy of the Khmer Rouge and came to America in 1983. He first reside in Rochester, Minnesota then later moved to Modesto, California in 1984. He was married to his late wife, Pie Lim, that passed in 2013. He was known for being a lead instrumentalist in playing traditional Cambodian music for Cambodian weddings and ceremonies. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandkids. He loved socializing around the neighborhood with the elders, laughing and joking. He is now in a better place without pain and suffering. He will be loved and missed so much.
He is survived by nine children, Phath Pheap, Sandy Pheap, Teda Pheap, Michael Pheap, Lisa Thorng, Phirith Thorng, Paula Thorng, Piren Thorng, and Peter Thorng; five brothers, Phath Pheap, Michael Thorng, Pirith Thorng, Peter Thorng and Piren Thorng; four sisters, Sandy Pheap, Teda Pheap Lisa Thorng and Paula Thorng; and 20 grandchildren who all loved him dearly.
Buddhist prayers will be held Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 8 AM in the Hathaway Home for Funerals, 1813 Robeson Street, Fall River, MA 02720, with cremation to follow at the Riverside Crematory in Fairhaven.
