Obituary

TAUNTON-Mercedes A. Laranjo, 52, passed away on December 22, 2021. She was the loving wife of David A. Laranjo.

Mercedes was born in the Dominican Republic, and was the daughter of Juan Ramon Perez and Nancy Baez.

Mercedes was a lifelong resident of the area and was employed as a Clinical Manager at South Shore Internal Medicine in Milton , MA for over fifteen years before recently being appointed as a clinical practice manager and relocating her professional career to South Carolina. She was also a graduate of Bay State College.

Mercedes was known by all as a woman who cared deeply for her family and was always on the lookout to try something new and exciting. During her life, Mercedes had many accomplishments. After raising a beautiful family she returned to school where she graduated in March 2017 with a Bachelors in Science Management. Her passions included spending time in her garden, singing and dancing and traveling with her husband. They had many adventures together over the years, spending time in Maui, the US Virgin Islands and traveling the northeast on their Harley Davidson. Mercedes also enjoyed soaking up the sun at the beach and cherished the moments she spent with her children and grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered as a powerful and fearless woman who never backed down from a challenge and was always willing to lend a hand to those in need.

Surviving in addition to her parents and husband are her children, Gyselle Williams of Taunton, Veronica Williams of Austin, TX, Jonathan Williams, Chyenne and Miranda Laranjo all of Taunton; siblings, Juan Alejandro Perez of Brookline, Eric Perez of Brockton, Olivyer Perez and his wife Maggie of NH, Cinthya Hammer of MD, and Giselle and Ruth Perez both of RI; grandchildren, Xavier, Teyah, Aubriana, Adrian, Mackenzie, Julian, Jazlyn and Lylah; nieces and nephews, Aramis “Gavy” , Lilliana, Jose, Gabriella, Jonathan “Jack”, Brianna, Michael, Aaron, Adam and Emiley, step mother, Josephine Perez. Also her grandmother, aunts, uncles, cousins and countless lifelong friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 1-4pm in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave., Taunton. Words of Remembrance will begin at 4pm in the funeral home.
