Obituary
Margaret (Oliver) Monteiro, age 76, of Assonet, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 14, 2023. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary C. (McCormick) Oliver and was the wife of the late Joseph P. Monteiro Jr. of 50 years. Margaret worked for the Department of Agriculture, and Raytheon but most of her working career was done for the IRS where she was the manager of Taxpayer Education for which she received many awards. She loved sailing and traveling with her late husband and kept her mind busy with her love of reading.
She is survived by her children: Mark Monteiro (wife Kerrie) of Taunton, MA, and Karen Monteiro of Denver, CO, brother: Walter Oliver of FL, sister Rosemary Lund of AZ, grandchildren: Zoe, Connor, Nathan and Nicolas and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service for Margaret will take place on Saturday, June, 17 at 10AM at Assonet Burial Grounds in Assonet. In lieu of flowers please take some time out of your day and spend it with a loved one.
