Louis M. DeMello

Louis M. “Lou Mick" DeMello, died unexpectedly on March 28, 2021. Louis was born in Fall River and was a son of the late Antone and Annette DeMello of Somerset.


“Lou Mick” was a graduate of Somerset High School and was known for his passion of jet skiing where he commanded the skill of riding and racing them, earning him the recognition of “Jet Ski King” by many who knew him at the Gooseberry Island Beach in Westport, MA.


“Lou Mick” also had a keen interest in vintage motocross, having competed in the 250cc class as part of the West German Team in 2012 at the 40th Rewind, a major Vintage Motocross event held at the world renowned Gran Prix Motocross Track at Unadilla, NY. He also was recognized by many as having survived horrific motor vehicle crashes including highway rollovers and explosions, all without sustaining an injury.


In lieu of flowers, please consider taking a walk on the beach or a simple act of kindness towards another.


He is survived by his brother, Antone DeMello, Jr of FL, Pauline Sardinha of Somerset, Donald DeMello of Somerset, his twin sister, Louise Carnahan of Somerset, Janice DeMello of Washington State and George DeMello of Taunton and many lifelong friends who will miss him dearly.


He was the brother of the late Gerald “Bipper” DeMello.


Per his wishes, his cremated remains will be scattered to the ocean at Gooseberry Island Beach in Westport.
