Leonora P. (Cabral) Baker, age 87, passed away on Saturday, June 25th, 2022 at Catholic Memorial Home, Fall River. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late John P. and Julia (Carvalho) Cabral, and wife of the late George B. Baker Sr. of 63 years. Leonora was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War which is where she met George. She loved being Respiratory Therapist and did so until she retired at age 72, loved music, entered the Music Conservatory at age 17, and loved reciting Shakespeare.
She is survived by her children: George B, Baker Jr. (wife Donna) of Oklahoma, Carol J. Baker, of Oklahoma, Julia E. Baker (fiancé Mark Stiles) of Fall River, and John P. Baker of Swansea, grandchildren: Ezekiel Davies, Luke “Kate” Davies, and Christopher Thibeault, great grandchildren: Ashton, Jacob, Sarah, and several nieces and nephews. She was also the grandmother of the late Lennon Baker.
Calling hours for Leonora will take place on Wednesday, June 29th from 8:30-10:30 at the Hathaway Home for Funerals 1813 Robeson St., Fall River with a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Name Church, 709 Hanover St., Fall River. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
