Leonard Rebello, MSpEd

Leonard Rebello, MSpEd, 76, a lifelong resident of Fall River, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2023.  

Born in Fall River, he is the son of the late Alfred Rebello, Sr. and the late Mildred (Read).  He is also the brother of the late Alfred Rebello, Jr.

Len graduated from B.M.C. Durfee High School. He had a passion for learning and teaching which led him to graduate from Curry College and Lesley University. While Len was attending college, he worked for many years in Phil’s Barbershop in Fall River. Len went on to become a Learning Disability Specialist and Reading Therapist.  He received his Orton - Gillingham training at the Reading Disabilities Unit in Massachusetts General Hospital. As an educator, Len worked with children in both public and private schools and earned several certifications. He has had over 30 years of evaluating and diagnosing children with special needs and learning disabilities.  Len was an avid reader and history enthusiast.  He especially enjoyed exploring the history of Fall River.  He has written and published several books, including Lizzie Borden: Past & Present.  Len had also volunteered for many years in the Emergency Room at Charlton Memorial Hospital.  He enjoyed antiquing and going for daily walks with his friends. 

Len leaves behind many dear friends who will miss him deeply, along with his godsons, Alexander and Zachary Sinkevich.

Family and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation for Leonard on Friday, February 17, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in the Hathaway Home for Funerals 1813 Robeson St., Fall River, MA 02720 following a Prayer Service for Len in the funeral home at 11:00 am.  Burial will be held at a later date.
