Obituary

It is with a sad heart to announce the passing of Leo A. Duval, 79, of Fairhaven, who passed away peacefully Thursday, January 12, 2023 at home with his caregiver and significant other, Sharon Fernandes by his side.

Born in Acushnet, son of the late Armand and Marie Blanche (Gelinas) Duval he grew up in New Bedford and settled in Fairhaven many years ago. Leo proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and later worked as a carpenter and window installer for Ray and Mike’s Home Improvement and actually owned a Bridal Shop at one time.

Leo liked to do crosswords, walk the beach, but most of all he enjoyed going to the Bayside Lounge to play Keno, scratch lottery tickets and to be with his friends. He was a life member and an Adjutant of the Fairhaven VFW, member of the DAV and American Legion Post #166 in Fairhaven where he was former Post Commander.

He is survived by his caregiver/significant other Sharon; children, Scott Duval and his companion Julie Clark, Jessica Millington and her husband Eddison and Craig Duval; two grandchildren, Eddison and Brady Millington; He was the brother of the late Doris Bolivian and brother Lucien and nephew Ronny Boivin.  He is also survived by a nephew Jerry Boivin and former wife, Judy Reynolds.

A graveside service will be held at the MA National Cemetery in Bourne followed by a celebration of Leo’s Life at the Bayside Lounge in Fairhaven at a later date.
