Joyce (Gotts) Demar, 92, of Taunton passed away after a brief illness Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Brockton Hospital. She was the wife of the late Leon E. Demar, Jr.
Born in Dagenham, England, daughter of the late Edward and Emma (Jenkins) Gotts, she came to this country in 1952 and settled in Taunton in 1953. She was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church.
Joyce had worked at Princess House Glassware and enjoyed quilting, knitting and gardening.
She is survived by her children, Russell E. Demar of Dighton, Denise Malenfant of Taunton and Allison Krajcik and her husband Allen of North Easton; three grandchildren, Brett Malenfant, Collin Krajcik and Chelsea Krajcik and her husband Lamine Sane; a great granddaughter, Rylynne Joy Malenfant and several nieces and nephews. Joyce was the twin sister of the late Gladys Reid and sister of the late Edward G. Gotts.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 11am in Mayflower Hill Cemetery in Taunton. Calling hours are omitted. Arrangements are under the direction of the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave. Taunton. For memorial register please visit, www.hathawayfunerals.com.
