We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Hathaway Home for Funerals
ASSONET- Jon A. Lucas, 69, passed away on July 22, 2022 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital after a brief illness. Jon was the loving husband of Elaine M. (Leite, Brassard) Lucas.
Jon was born in Canton and was the son of the late James A. Lucas and Eleanor F. (Pierce) Lucas.
Mr. Lucas was a graduate of Westport High School and New England Institute of Technology. He was employed for many years at the former Texas Instruments as an Electromechanical Technician and then at Sensata Technologies and Titleist. Jon was a talented auto mechanic and could always be found tinkering on one of his many project cars. In addition to his love of MOPAR, he had a passion for Auto Racing and was a member of the Shelby Dodge Car club. Jon was also a huge fan of classic hard rock, southern rock and bluesmusic. Nothing brought Jon more happiness than the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be remembered by those who knew him best as a kind, hardworking, and fun man; as well as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Marc Brassard and his wife Gale of Westport, Sherry Oliveira of Fall River, and Jessie Durand and her husband Christopher of Somerset, grandchildren, Sarah, Matthew, Kyle, Nathan and Emmitt, a great grandchild on the way, and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Thursday, July 28, 2022 from 4-7pm in the Hathaway Home for Funerals, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River.
His funeral will be held on Friday July 29, 2022 at 9am at the funeral home, followed by his funeral Mass at 10am in St. Bernard’s Church, Assonet.
