Jerome L. “Jerry” Beaulieu, 81, of Mattapoisett, formerly of Rochester passed away unexpectedly Sunday, May 14, 2023 at Tobey Hospital in Wareham peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Phyllis N. (Chevalier) Beaulieu.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late Romeo and Jeannette (Belanger) Beaulieu, he lived in Acushnet and Rochester for many years prior to retiring in Mattapoisett. Jerry was a graduate of New Bedford Vocational High School and served in the US Army in France during the beginning of the Vietnam War. He and his wife were the founders and operators of P & J Rug Rental in New Bedford for 30 years until his retirement in 2001.
Jerry was an avid golfer and was a member and former President of the Hawthorne CC and longtime member of Reservation Golf Club. He enjoyed playing cards, especially Pitch, often with his longtime friends Bob Bergeron and Dick Borges by his side. He enjoyed having fun, laughing and joking with family and friends.
He is survived by his children, Marc J. Beaulieu and his wife Lesley Souza, Amy M. Filloramo and her husband Rob, Matthew W. Beaulieu and his wife Kimberly all of Rochester, Donna P. Walsh and her husband Jack of Westport, and the late Jennifer L. Forker, also survived by her husband James Forker of Marion and daughter in law, Sheelagh Beaulieu of Mattapoisett; siblings, Clement Beaulieu and his wife Joanne of Fairhaven, Cozette Poirier of New Bedford and Joanne Pothier and her husband Roger of NC and the late Julien Beaulieu; also survived by his wife Joann of New Bedford; 16 grandchildren, Jonathan and Harriet Beaulieu, Nicholas Filloramo and his fiancé Amelia Knowlton, Noah Filloramo and his wife Evelyn, Camille and Grace Filloramo, William, Matthew and Collin Walsh, Mollie Palm and her husband William, Emily, Sarah and Kate Beaulieu, Benjamin, Charlotte and Nora Forker; four great grandchildren, Nova and Maximus Palm and Andrea and Theodore Filloramo and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Sunday from 1-4pm in the Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Fairhaven. His funeral service will be Monday, May 22, 2023 at 10am in the funeral home followed by interment in Sherman Cemetery, Rochester.
