Obituary

Jean E.(Atwood)Pacheco, 75 years old, of Dighton, wife of Joseph P. Pacheco, died on July 8, 2018, in Charlton Hospital, Fall River.

She was born in Dighton, daughter of the late Leslie and Alice (Waller) Atwood. She was educated in Dighton Schools and graduated Dighton High School, class of 1960. She attended Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School, in Providence. Jean then went to work in Washington, DC for the U S Government for a number of years. She also worked as a secretary in the office of the Superintendent of Schools at Dighton-Rehoboth High School. She retired from that office after more than 20 years. Jean was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren especially around the holidays. She enjoyed reading, cooking, gardening, shopping and was an avid cat lover.

Besides her husband Joe, she is the mother of Michael A. Pacheco and his wife Heather of Dighton and Jeff E. Pacheco and his wife Margo of Mansfield. Jean is the grandmother of Alexa Pacheco, Zachary Pacheco, Max Stepan and Leila Almeida. Jean is the sister of Constance Ashley of Dighton and Katherine Courtemanche and her husband Lenny of KY. She was the also the sister in law of the late Walter Ashley. She is the aunt of Angela and Jacqueline Ashley.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave. (Route 138 South), Taunton, on Friday, July 13, 2018, at 10 AM.

Interment will be in the Dighton Unitarian Church Cemetery.

Visiting hours on Thursday from 4-8PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the First Baptist Church, 438 Main St. Dighton, MA or to a charity of one's choice.
