Janet L. LaFreniere

Janet L. LaFreniere, 85, of Taunton passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family, on Sunday, May 7, 2023.  She is the wife to the late James “Jimbo” A. LaFreniere.

Born in Taunton, she is the daughter to the late Evelyn Hawes.  Janet attended school in Norton and went on to work for Head Start as a Teacher’s Aide and then for Bloom as a Van Monitor.  Janet loved to spend time with her family and friends.  Janet enjoyed holiday cooking and baking for her family and friends.  She would look forward to taking her family for dinner at Lindsey’s Family Restaurant in Wareham and spending time at the Cape Cod Canal.  She enjoyed listening to Elvis and Gospel music.  Janet enjoyed crossword puzzles, Bingo and her favorite television show Survivor.  She was an avid New York Yankees fan.  Janet had a spunky personality that will be missed by all who knew her.

Janet leaves behind her five children; Kevin Roy, Andrea Ramalho, Lisa Roy, Danielle Azevedo and Deidre Souza.  Janet is the proud grandmother to eight grandchildren; Stacey Priestley, Ryan Pereira, Jared Azevedo, James Azevedo, Valerie Resendes, Cory Pereira, Jake Souza and Luke Souza.  Along with her ten great grand children; Cameron Wilkins, Rylee Resendes, Avery Azevedo, Alivia Azevedo, Brittany Azevedo, Brianna Azevedo, Jordan Pereira, Jasmine Pereira, Hayden Priestley and Rydder Gensler.  She is the sister to the late Kenneth Hawes.

Family and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation for Janet on Monday, May 15, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the Crapo Hathaway Funeral home 350 Somerset Ave, Taunton, MA 02780.  Prayer Service will be held for Janet on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at 10:00am in Crapo Hathaway Funeral Home.  Burial will immediately follow in Mayflower Hill Cemetery in Taunton.
