Horace P. Oliveira

Horace P. Oliveira, 91, of Somerset, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday February 3, 2023 in Charlton Hospital.  He was the devoted husband of 67 years to Olive (Soares) Oliveira.

Horace was born in Fall River to the late Horace P. Oliveira Sr and the late Maria (Bernardo) Oliveira.  He graduated from Durfee High School and went on to work as a Logistics Engineer for Raytheon.  He also worked on the United States Navy Radar and Missile Systems for their ships.  Horace was a devoted Communicant of St. Patrick Church in Somerset until Covid happened and then his declining health.  Horace was a member of the Italian Social Club in Taunton.  He loved to work in his yard, he played in a Bocci League and was an avid Yankee fan.  He was also an avid fan of the New England Patriots.  Horace was a season ticket holder for many, many years.  He enjoyed traveling with his wife.  They have traveled the world together, his favorite place to travel was to Las Vegas.  

Along with his wife Olive, Horace is survived by his son Paul Oliveira and his wife Debbie of Key West Florida.  He was the proud grandfather to Zachary Oliveira and his wife Holleigh Bergstrom of Providence, RI, Tyler Oliveira and his wife Kimberly of Boston, MA and Seth Oliveira and his fiancé Kellie Husketh of Denver, CO.  Horace is the great grand father to Adelaide (Addie) Oliveira and Sloan Oliveira.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am on Thursday, February 9, 2023 in St Patrick Church 306 South Street Somerset, MA 02726.  Burial will immediately follow in St. Patrick Cemetery in Somerset.
