Hilda Jean McDonald, 76, passed away on September 7, 2020 with her loved ones at home. Hilda was born on August 29, 1944 in Shreveport, LA to the late Esther Brown.
Hilda was employed in the Boston area as a CNA for many years until her retirement and was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Attleboro. She enjoyed spending her summers camping at her “home away from home” in New Hampshire, traveling, sewing, playing cards, reading, and spending time with her family and friends. Hilda was incredibly skilled at sewing and crafting and could make just about anything and her loved ones always looked forward to her special “nana made” gifts. Hilda will be remembered as a tenacious, fierce, independent, strong-willed, loving, crafty, caring, and feisty woman who cared deeply for those around her.
She is survived by her children, Jean Tibbets of Biddeford, ME, Debra McDonald of Attleboro and Henry McDonald and his wife Lisa of Peabody; grandchildren, Kristinia, Mark Jr, Shareece, Dyllon-Joseph, Henry Robert and Kyle; great-grandchildren, Tianna, Aariana, Camden, Kyle Jr and Brayden and many nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Joseph McDonald, Jr.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September, 15, 2020 at 10am in St. John the Evangelist Church, 1 St. John Pl., Attleboro. Relatives and friends are invited to attend DIRECTLY TO THE CHURCH.
Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, Attleboro.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, September 14, 2020 from 4-7pm in the Foley-Cook-Hathaway Funeral Home, 126 South Main St., Attleboro.
Mask wearing and social distancing will be required throughout the funeral and Hathaway Funeral Service staff will assist all in attendance.
