Henry Halmut Herz, 100, a former resident of Swansea, MA, died July 24, 2021 in Leominster, MA. He was born in Obertiefenbach, Germany, to Louis and Clara (Buchheim) Herz. Henry and his parents escaped Nazi Germany in 1939, immigrating to La Paz, Bolivia for eleven years and then to the United States in 1950. After settling in Fall River, MA, he established Henry Herz Custom Upholstery, a successful business that he operated for forty years. Preceded in death by his wives Britta (Gersuny) Herz and Louise (Morse) Herz, he is survived by his children, Jeffrey Herz of Leominster and his wife Libby, Deborah Herz of Narragansett, RI and her partner Debra, his grandchildren Alyssa and Joshua, his nephew Sigmund Herz of Novato, CA, and his niece, Suzette Rabinowitz of Cranston, RI. He also leaves behind his stepchildren, Bradford Morse of Swansea and David Morse of New Hampshire, and their wives, children, and families. An avid reader and loyal Red Sox and New England Patriots fan, Henry also enjoyed classical music, opera, and winters in Naples, FL. Celebrated and loved by everyone who knew him, Henry fulfilled his wish to reach the age of 100 and will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know and love him. A former member of Adas Israel Synagogue. His Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at 11am in the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton Street, Somerset followed by burial in the Hebrew Cemetery in Fall River.
