Obituary

Hazel E. Hartling, 98, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2020. She was the wife of the late Robert F. Hartling.

Hazel was born in Middleboro and was the daughter of the late Harris Bartlett Tripp and Mary Adeline (Hunt) Tripp.

Hazel was educated in Middleboro, the same town as her future husband Robert and went on to become a telephone operator with New England Bell. Her two daughters would later follow in her footsteps becoming telephone operators themselves. She also worked later in life as a clerk for the Seekonk School System for many years until her retirement.

Hazel was an active member of the Hebronville Methodist Church in Attleboro and later, the Centenary Methodist Church in Attleboro.

She is survived by her children, Judy Hartman and Nancy George of LaFayette, CO, David Hartling and his wife Deborah of Rehoboth and Paul Hartling of Attleboro; grandchildren, Matthew Hartling of Seekonk, Naomi Rosales of Brighton, CO, Bryan Hartling of Foxboro and Brenda Daday of N. Attleboro; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Barbara Bishop.

A celebration of Mrs. Hartling’s life will be held at a later date.
