SWANSEA-George A. Hebert, Sr., 92, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on May 22, 2022. George was born in Fall River and was the son of the late Edward Hebert and Mathilda (Doucette) Hebert.
Mr. Hebert served his country honorably in the US Navy during the Korean War as a Gunners Mate 3rd Class aboard the USS Pawcatuck. He was a lifelong member of the Fall River Elks Lodge 118 and the Knights of Columbus, Swansea. George held a long and rewarding career as a Master Tool and Die Maker. He enjoyed gardening, bowling, bingo, dining out and many bus trips with his family and friends.
Besides his longtime loving companion Eileen Fernandes, George is survived by his sons, Steven Hebert of Fall River, Russell Hebert and his son Ryan of CA; and James Hebert and his wife Cammie Fleitz Hebert of NV; step grandson, Colton and brother Roland Hebert of Johnston, RI.
He was the father of the late George A. Hebert, Jr and brother of the late Edward and Albert Hebert, Rita LePage, Cecile Fontaine, Loretta Conroy and Lorraine Botelho.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Thursday, May 26, 2022 from 9-11am in the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset. Prayers and Words of Remembrance will begin at 11am.
Burial with military honors will follow in the Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
