Errol W. Borden, 46, of Somerset passed away Saturday, July 25, 2020 at his Somerset home after a valiant battle against cancer. He was in the loving care of his fiancee Christine Boivin and their children Andraya C. Borden and Ayden E. Borden.
Errol was the son of Wayne Borden of Maine and the late Deborah (Seaman) Borden Russo and was the grandson of Marilyn and Russell Borden and the late Anne and Howard Mosher, all of Westport. Born in Fall River, Errol was a graduate of Westport High School and attended Bristol Community College. He lived in Somerset, Louisiana and Illinois and worked in a variety of fields. A talented landscaper, he ran his own business for a number of years and also had been employed in the basement waterproofing, restaurant and sales industries. Errol found true joy in spending time with his family and in his final months, he and son Ayden planted a garden and went fishing. Errol was also teaching Ayden to play guitar. With daughter Andraya, he encouraged her love for art, dance and playing the violin. Together, he and Christine and the kids enjoyed weeding the garden and ice skating and echoing his great love for the outdoors, they had hoped to take a camping trip. An animal lover, Errol had three cats and over the years had both cats and dogs. Motorcycles and bowling --- he at one time was a member of leagues in Westport and Taunton --- were among his other passions. Survivors include his fiancee, his children, his father; a sister Kim; and his grandparents; his uncles and aunts Dean Borden of Florida, Wayne and Karen Seaman of New Hampshire and Hank and Susan Seaman of Dartmouth; his cousins Kristen Seaman of Oregon and Jennifer Seaman of New Hampshire; and his fiancee’s mother Lorraine Rodrigues of Fall River. In lieu of flowers, donations in Errol’s memory can be sent for the children’s education in care of Christine Boivin, 75 Forestdale Drive, Somerset, MA. 02726. Calling hours to which relatives and friends are invited to attend for Errol will be on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2020 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset. (Funeral home staff will assist guests with social distancing and face coverings are required to enter the funeral home) At Errol’s request, he will be cremated with his cremains buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Fall River, alongside his beloved Grandma Anne, in a private burial.
