Erin Ferry

Obituary

Erin Ferry, 33, of Dighton, MA passed away the evening of May 7, 2022, surrounded by loved ones at the hospital.

Erin is survived by her parents; Thomas and Stacy Ferry; Siblings’ TJ Ferry, Becca Martel, Cynthia Offley, and Tim Ferry; Brother in laws Andrew Martel and Jordon Offley; Sister-in-law Erin Ferry; and Nieces’ and Nephews; Logan, Emilia, Oakley, Maverick, Noella and Toby.

Erin was born in Fall River, MA to Thomas and Stacy Ferry. She completed high school at Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High, where she was a member of the school track team and also attended classes to obtain her GED, which was very important to her. She was an election worker in her hometown of Dighton and served as the town GATRA representative. She was also active in the Lions Club in town as well as the Lincoln Village community. She was part of the Somerset Sportsman club, as well as a volunteer at the library and food bank in town.

Erin never let Spina Bifida stop her from enjoying life to the fullest and beyond. Her independence and tenacity were among the qualities that shown through in her daily life. She loved to spend time fishing with her nieces and nephews. Her drive to live life to the fullest took her on many hunting and fishing trips. Among her favorite was at the Pine Grove Lodge in Maine with her father, whom she learned and shared the love of hunting and fishing with. She got her love of serving others from her mother and enjoyed making things with her hands for friends and families. She was an excellent crafter and enjoyed making paintings, jewelry, hats, blankets, scarfs and other items for her friends and families.

Erin was her sibling’s biggest cheerleader, and nothing made her more proud then seeing them succeed in their lives. Especially when it brought her nieces and nephews. Being an aunt was her most prized title, and her nieces and nephews always had a special admiration and love of her. It was the time she was most happy in her life. Though she was constantly facing battles of her own, nothing brought her more joy than new additions to the family and being able to show her love to them through her positive outlook, showing off her wicked cool wheelchair, and amazing crafts and handmade items to bring pure happiness to their little face.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 11am in the West Dighton Christian Church, 2767 Horton St., North Dighton.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
