Obituary

Miss Elizabeth A. “Betty” Medeiros, 72, of Fairhaven passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River.

Born in Acushnet, daughter of Viola L. (Dupuis) Medeiros-Days of Fairhaven and the late Joseph J. Medeiros, Jr., she was a lifelong resident of Fairhaven and a graduate of Fairhaven High School. Betty had worked at Cumberland Farms on Sconticut Neck and Sassaquin in New Bedford and also at GNC Health Food in Fairhaven before Walmart in Fairhaven where she was a department manager for 23 years.

Betty enjoyed spending time with her family and visiting her brother in Tennessee, dining out with her friends as well as trips to the islands with Deana and Carol.

She is survived by her mother, Viola;  sisters, Winifred Sylvia and her husband Robert of Marion and Christine Gallagher of Fairhaven;  brothers, Ronald Medeiros and his wife Annie of Fairhaven and Timothy Medeiros and his wife Diane of Whitesburg, TN;  and many nieces and nephews.  Betty was the sister of the late Richard and Robert Medeiros.

In accordance with her wishes she will be cremated and a graveside service will be held Friday, May 20, 2022 at 10am in Acushnet Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Fairhaven.  For memorial register please visit, www.hathawayfunerals.com. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Betty’s name to a local animal shelter.
