Elaine (Costa) Barrow, 90, of Dighton, passed away on Monday, Jan. 11, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of 63 years to the late Kenneth G Barrow Sr. Elaine was born in Dighton the daughter of the late Frank Enos and Lucy C. (Mello) Costa. She was a graduate of Dighton High School, Class of 1948. Mrs. Barrow was an active member at the First Baptist Church in Dighton. Elaine also served the church as Missions Director, Bookkeeper, Treasurer,. She was a selfless and faithful Mother and Grandmother who left a legacy of loving Christ and serving others. She loved to garden, cook, and was most happy when spending time with family and friends. She was very active and led a full life up until her passing. Her favorite Bible verse is Romans 8:28, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Her family clings to the promise that she is now with Jesus and that they will be reunited with her someday. She is survived by a son: Kenneth G. Barrow Jr. and his wife Debora of Wenham; a daughter: Gale Amesbury and her husband Edwin of North Carolina; sisters Joyce Costa Grassie, Lucille Costa Hay, brother Raymond E. Costa Sr., six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild along with several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Pamela Barrow Allard and sister of the late Madeline Costa Gracia, Frank E. Costa Jr., Roger A. Costa. Calling Hours for Elaine will be held on Friday, Jan. 15, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the First Baptist Church, 438 Main Street Dighton, followed by a Service Cast that will stream for the public at 11 a.m on Elaine’s tribute page at www.hathawayfunerals.com Burial will Privately held in the Dighton Unitarian Church Cemetery. Memorial donations in her memory can be made to the First Baptist Church, c/o the Remembrance Fund, P.O.Box 553 Mains Street, Dighton, MA 02715. All arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton St., in Somerset.
