Edward D. Reese, Sr., 76, passed away on June 2, 2021 at his longtime home in North Dighton. He was the husband of the late Rebecca A. (DiPalma) Reese, and the longtime companion and “partner in crime” of Christine Dacunha.
Ed was born in Fall River and was the son of the late Myron E. Reese and Lillian (Jacome) Reese and was the brother of the late Myron Reese, Jr.
Mr. Reese served his country honorably in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was employed with both the Rehoboth Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police for several years. Ed was best known as the owner and operator of Reese’s Auto Sales on Somerset Ave. He was a dedicated member of the community and truly loved his town of Dighton where he also faithfully served as a Selectman. Ed held a lifelong passion for anything automotive and racing related, an interest that he passed down to his family. In addition to tinkering with cars, he enjoyed the time he spent restoring and cruising in his classic cars and attending countless car shows over the years. In his spare time, you could find Ed mowing and maintaining a meticulous lawn and spending time with his family. He will be fondly remembered by his children, his town and many lifelong friends as a dedicated family man with a passion for civic duty and someone who was always willing to help others.
He is survived by his children, Kim Marie McArdell and her husband Steven of Dartmouth, Edward D. Reese, Jr., his wife Kyle of N. Dighton and their children, Kassandra and Zachary; sisters, Susan Silva and her husband Tony of N. Dighton and Betty Consigli and her husband John of Hopedale, MA, and several nieces and nephews.
