Douglas J. Machado, 84, of Fall River, passed away on Friday, October 28, 2022 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of thirty-one years to Patricia Eagan. Douglas was born in Fall River the son of the late Arthur R. and Aldena (Mello) Machado. He was a graduate of BMC Durfee high School. Douglas worked as a truck driver for the Danis Transportation Company in Pawtucket for over thirty years. Doug also owned Rogers Memorials, a cemetery monument and headstone engraving business for many years, which served numerous families throughout the southcoast. He also had a long standing working and business relationship with the Lincoln Granite Company in Braintree. He enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends. Doug was a long time member of the Fall River Country Club. He was a passionate New York Yankee’s fan and enjoyed fishing. Survivors besides his wife are two daughters: Donna L. Peters and her husband Charles of Berkley; Lori J. Machado Shubert of Key West; a son: Douglas “DJ” Machado of Dartmouth; four grandchildren: Amanda, Madison, Baylee and DJ; a sister: Joan M. Machado of Westport; along with several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Arthur “Rigger” Machado and his late identical twin David J. Machado. Doug’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday November 9, 2002 from 9:30am to 11:30am with a Prayer Service to follow at 11:30am in the Hathaway Home for Funerals, 1813 Robeson Street, Fall River. Burial will be private at the request of the family.
