It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Donald Francis Horton, of Taunton, MA, on May 18, 2020, at the age of 64.
He was the son of the late Albert P. and Rosamond K. (Bushee) Horton. Donald was also the brother to the late Albert P. Horton (Buddy), the late George H. Horton, and the late Robert E. Horton.
Donald was a lifelong resident of the City of Taunton and attended Taunton Public Schools.
Donald was extremely knowledgeable when it came to antiques. He loved listening to his antique Edison Cylinder Player Phonograph each evening. He also enjoyed music from the sixties, seventies and eighties as well as dancing. He had such compassion for animals especially cats. Each day he would feed the homeless cats throughout the city with his best friend Robin. Rain or shine / sleet or snow he was there to assist the furry helpless animals. Anyone who knew Donald would describe him as: caring, generous, polite, huge heart and of course his beautiful smile.
Donald leaves many nieces and nephews: Scott Horton, Todd Horton, Dawn DeCosta, Jason Kingsbury, Megan Narciso, and Bryan Horton; many cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his nephew John Horton.
Aunt Nanny and Sissy will always cherish the many fond memories of spending time together with Donnie. He truly loved days at Horseneck Beach, shopping till we dropped, going to various restaurants for lunch or enjoying large scoops of ice cream at one of our favorite spots, listening to music and talking about the various artists, spending the many holidays together especially Christmas because that was our very special “family time”. Family and the history of our family were so important to Donald.
Your family is complete now… they have you home.
We love you forever Donnie. You will always be in our hearts.
Donald’s family would like to especially thank the doctors, nurses and staff in the Neurological Department at Boston Medical, the staff at Longmeadow Nursing Home and the staff at Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care.Thank you for the prayers and well wishes from Donald’s friends and family.
