Cynthia A. Rothwell

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Cynthia A. (Weaver) Rothwell, age 72, of Dighton. Cynthia passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, surrounded by her family. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Barbara (Wise) Weaver, and beloved wife of Russell Rothwell of 48 years. Cindy was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church of Fall River and she served as a member of the Alpha Circle. She was also a member of the Wampanoag Kennel Club for many years. Cindy loved going to breakfast and was an avid card and bingo player. She dedicated her entire life to raising her family. She was the most selfless, caring and loving mom and wife, she never complained and she loved us unconditionally. She was also an owner breeder, and handler of champion minpins that she loved very much!

In addition to her husband she is survived by her children: David Desmarais and his wife Lori, Paula Hanson and her husband Daniel, Jennifer Sobolewski and Russell Rothwell. Her sister, Susan Blackburn, and her grandchildren Kassandra, Jaelyn, Amber, Felicity, Caidyn, Mia, Hallie, Myla, and Abby. Best friends, Debbie Bradshaw and Nancy Tavares as well as several beloved pets.

Calling hours for Cindy will take place on Sunday, May 7th at the Hathaway Home for Funerals 1813 Robeson St. Fall River from 4-7 PM. Her funeral service will take place on Monday, May 8th, at 10AM in the funeral home. Internment in Oak Grove Cemetery
