Beverly A. Mullen

May 1, 2022

On Sunday, May 1, 2022 Beverly A (Hewitt) Mullen the wife of Edward P. Mullen III completed her long journey through the disease of Alzheimer's finally finding the peace she so deserved.  She passed surrounded by loving family and compassionate, caring and wonderful caregivers who had become family as well.  Beverly and Ed would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in November. Ed devoted the last several years making sure Bev knew how loved she was.  He made daily stops at Mr. Peepers in Swansea for Bev's lunch of milkshakes and sundaes.  Everyone at Country Gardens knew that Ed would be there at 11:30am  to make sure Bev had her favorite meal.

Beverly was the daughter of the late James and Agnes (Lepage) Hewitt.  In addition to her husband she leaves her daughter Cheryl Corey and her husband Dean, her son Edward (Pete) Mullen and his husband Jeff, her grandson Brandon CL Schofield his wife Ashley and their daughter the beautiful Selena.  She also leaves her bonus grandson Dean Corey and his wife Tessa, and their children Tenley, Michael, Averi, Christian and Alivia.  During Bev's journey she developed a special bond with Tenley which became a loving friendship.  Bev also leaves several nieces and nephews.  She was the sister of the late James Hewitt Jr and mother in law to the late Loree Moglia Mullen.

Bev helped run her husband’s business, Industrial Mobil Press for over 30 years.  She also worked at So-Fro Fabrics, which was later renamed JoAnn Fabrics.  Bev served on the Board of Registrars for the town of Somerset and served as Warden at Precinct 5 for the town elections for many years.  She was also a Lent Lady at Chad’s Chowder House for many years.  Bev was a member of the original Fall River First Baptist Church and was a member of the Hand Bell Choir.

Special thanks to Dean, for always being there for Bev before she moved into Country Gardens.  The family would also like to give special thanks to the staff at Country Gardens Nursing Home who gave Bev such loving and compassionate care. It was easy to sleep at night knowing the exemplary care she was given.  Special thanks go to Patty, Kelsey, Stephanie, Ashley (Trouble) and to all the staff members that made sure Bev was treated with respect and dignity.  We would also like to thank Paige and Chris at Mr. Peepers for their caring and friendship and of course the delicious shakes and sundaes they made for Bev daily.  And lastly we would like to thank Margaret, Meaghan and Brian from Continuum Hospice who made Bev's transition as easy and painless as possible.  Much love to our Tessa for helping the family get through this process with her love and caring.
