Obituary

William Waddicor, Jr., 94, formerly of Swansea, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, December 26, 2017. He was the husband of the late Constance (Brownell) Waddicor.

William was born in Fall River and was the son of the late William Waddicor, Sr and Cora (Hilton).

William served his country honorably in the US Army Air Corps during WWII and was employed with Brown and Sharpe and later at Hasbro as a pattern maker for many years until his retirement. He was a 25 year volunteer on the Swansea Fire Department where he helped to construct the original Station 4, in North Swansea.

William was a talented builder of boats, canoes, and furniture, and also enjoyed playing ice hockey, skiing, and playing softball for the Swansea FD and Hasbro leagues. William cherished the time he spent with his family, particularly hiking and camping in the White Mountains.

He is survived by his sons, Kenneth L. Waddicor and his wife Susan of Swansea and David A. Waddicor and his wife Kathleen of Franklin; daughter, Christine L. Belyea and her husband Spencer of Swansea; grandchildren, Jeffrey and Kimberly Belyea, William, Evan, Kerrin and Nicholas Waddicor, and Caitlin Dolan; great granddaughter, Madelyn Dolan and several nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Arthur Waddicor.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017, at 10am, in the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Burial will be held at a later date.

Calling Hours will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 4-7pm in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the RI Veterans Home, 480 Metacom Ave., Bristol, RI 02809.
