William R. Frias

William R. Frias, 75, of Swansea passed away at his home on Sunday, July 29, 2018, surrounded by family. He was the husband of fifty two years to Ann E.(Samson) Frias.

William was born in Fall River, the son of John and Mary (Cunha) Frias. He was a graduate of BMC Durfee High School, class of 1960. Mr. Frias then served his country with the United States Navy. He began working for New England Telephone and Telegram as an electric technician and eventually became Verizon for over thirty years, retiring in 1998. Some of William's favorite pastimes included photography, physical activities, such as running, and being outdoors enjoying nature. William treasured the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors besides his wife are: a daughter, Laura Ouellette and her husband Thomas of Somerset; a son, Todd Frias and his wife Katie of Somerset; four grandchildren: Vanessa, Andrew, Maggie and Emmy. He was also the brother of the late Richard and James Frias.

His funeral service will be held on Friday, August 3, 2018, at 10 AM, from the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton Street, Somerset, followed by a Mass of Christian burial, at 11 AM, in Saint Louis de France Church, 56 Buffington Street, Swansea. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial to follow with Military Honors follow in Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Somerset. .

Calling hours will be held Thursday, August 2, 2018, from 4pm-7pm, in the funeral home.
