Virginia A. Medeiros, 83, formerly of Seekonk, passed away on October 25, 2019.
She was the wife of the late Joseph Medeiros.
Virginia was born in Waltham and was the daughter of the late Romaine Robinson and Harriet (Moores) Robinson.
Virginia was an active member of the First Baptist Church in East Providence for many years, where she served as the church Chairman of the Board of Directors and coordinated countless church pot roast suppers for many years. She was a den mother for the cub scouts, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America and also served on numerous committees related to the First Baptist Church. Virginia also operated her own day care center in Seekonk for many years where she cared for local children. She also enjoyed camping, her faith and her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Carole A. Gilbert and her husband Leon of Dighton and Cynthia L. Larsen and her husband Rolfe of Fall River; sons, Joseph G. Medeiros and his wife Marge of Foxboro and Scott A. Medeiros and his wife Lori of Bellair, FL; brothers, Edward Robinson and his wife Barbara of Port Orange, FL, Stephen Robinson and his wife Ceil of Framingham, Peter Robinson and his wife Barbara of Lansing, KS and Paul Robinson and his husband Julian of Milford; sister, Edith Gilbert of Uxbridge; grandchildren, Rachel, Taylor, Matthew and Nicholas Medeiros and Kimberly Ponte and her husband Daniel; great-granddaughter, Alexis Ponte and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Sandra Stodard.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Monday, November 4, 2019, at 11am, in the Winthrop St. Baptist Church, 39 Winthrop St., Taunton.
Burial will be private.
