Obituary

Steven D. Cromwell, 56, of New Bedford, passed away unexpectedly Friday, February 23, 2018, at home. He was the former husband of Judy (Sales) Cromwell.

Born in New Bedford, son of Charles E. and Elaine (Gelinais) Cromwell of Fairhaven, he grew up in Fairhaven and lived in the area all of his life. He attended New Bedford Vocational High School and had been a self employed carpenter for many years and also had worked for Carefree Homes and the Acushnet Company, Rubber.

Steve enjoyed riding his motorcycle, football, and was an avid Patriot's fan. He was very involved in building and racing radio controlled cars and was a member of the NBRC. Steve did lots of carpentry work for family and friends and most of all, loved spending time with his grandson August.

He is survived by his parents; his former wife, Judy; a daughter, Stephanie L. Rocha and her husband Daniel of New Bedford; a son, Robert S. Cromwell of New Bedford; his grandson August Rocha; a brother, Charles E. Cromwell, III of Fairhaven; a sister, Cheryl A. Cromwell of Portland ME; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Memorial calling hours will be held Saturday, March 3, 2018, from 10am-1pm, in the Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Fairhaven, with a service at 12:30pm. Interment will be private.
