Obituary

Stanley J. Sieczkowski Jr., 85, of Somerset, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2018, at his home. He was the husband of the late Mary Theresa (Van Brocklin) Sieczkowski.

Stanley was born in New Bedford, the son of the late Stanley J. Sieczkowski Sr. and Angela (Pyteraf) Sieczkowski. Mr. Sieczkowski graduated from BMC Durfee High class of 1950 and he earned his bachelors degree in Textile Engineering from Bradford Durfee Tech. He served is country during the Korean War with the United States Army. Stanley attended the Boston Braves training camp. He worked for United Merchants & Manufacturing as a textile engineer for many years and continued working in textile industry until his retirement.

He was a communicant, a member of Saint Thomas More Retiree's and the Saint Vincent de Paul Society at Saint Thomas More Church. Mr. Sieczkowski was a member of the American Legion, in Somerset, the Somerset Council on Aging and enjoyed bowling with the Senior Bowling League and having lunch with the Over the Hill Gang. One of Stanley's true passions was working in is garden.

Survivors are four daughters: Judith M. Labbe and her husband Charles of Rumford, RI; Teresa Sieczkowski of Johnston, RI; Cynthia Sieczkowski of Abington, MA; Nancy Tornello of Pleasantville, NY; a granddaughter: Siena Tornello; a sister: Joan Rutter of Seekonk, MA along with several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Wanda Langlois, Eleanor Neveleff and Lillian Rowbotham.

DUE TO STORM his funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at 9am, from the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton Street, Somerset, followed by a Mass of Christian burial, at 11am, in Saint Thomas More Church, 386 Luther Ave., Somerset. Burial to follow with Military Honors in Saint Patrick Cemetery, Fall River.

DUE TO STORM Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, from 8:30am to 10:30am, in the funeral home.

Memorial donations in his memory can be made to the Saint Vincent de Paul Society at Saint Thomas More Church.
