Obituary

Stanley J. Gosselin, 69, passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center, in Providence, after a hard fought battle with brain cancer. He was the adored husband of thirty-three years to Clare A. (Lussier) Gosselin.

Stanley was born in Providence, the son of the late Joseph and Helen (Dunaj) Gosselin. A graduate of Warren High School, in 1967, Stanley then earned his B.S. in Physical Education from the University of Rhode Island, in 1972. After teaching physical education for Somerset Middle School for several years, he then went on to pursue computer programming at various companies. For the last seventeen years he worked for Martignetti Companies, in Taunton, MA, before retiring in 2017.

An avid outdoorsman, his favorite activities were running, hiking, and skiing. A proud New York Yankees fan, Stanley enjoyed participating in and watching sports with his family. He was always ready to play catch or take you on in a game of H-O-R-S-E. He was also an enthusiastic member of the East Bay Golf League at Swansea Country Club. Above all, he put his family first.

He is also survived by his children: Max J. Gosselin of Mammoth Lakes, CA; Samuel M. Gosselin of Rehoboth, MA; Sadie C. Gosselin and her longtime boyfriend Luke B. Hancock, both of Wilmington, NC. His dear sister: Catherine Sengel of Warwick, RI and her two sons: Thaddeus Sengel of Cornish, ME and Seth Sengel of Lancaster, PA. He also leaves behind his faithful feline, Oddi.

Mr. Gosselin's family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, November 24, 2018, from 2-5pm, with Words of Remembrance at 5pm, in the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton Street, Somerset.
