Ronald J. Silveira, 67, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at Hope Hospice, in Providence.
He was a lifelong resident of Taunton, son of the late Joseph E. and Margaret (Semas) Silveira. Ron was educated in the Taunton school system and was a graduate of Taunton High School, Class of 1969, and was a proud member of the 1967 undefeated football team there. He attended Wentworth Institute and was a member of the Local 1035 Carpenters Union.
Ron started Silveira Construction Company, in 1973. He later was a partner in Parkman Construction Co., and was in charge of Residential Commercial building projects including Lands End Condo complex, White Smith Village, Cutter Place Medical Center, North Woods Medical Center, Mastria Buick/GMC.
He enjoyed deep sea fishing both off Cape Cod and Florida, and hunting in Maine with his son. Ron spent his free time attending his grandson's baseball, football, and boxing events. He enjoyed training with them for their favorite sports and also taught them about his passions, such as fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his son Jon Silveira of Orlando, Fl and his daughter, Leigh Ann Silveira of Cranston, RI. Loving grandfather to Kelan and Charlie Cornell, who brought him so much joy. Ron is also survived by his sisters Carole Waddell and her husband Donald of Middleboro, Beverly Kroczkowski and her companion Fred of North Dighton, Gail Thomas and her husband Paul of Somerset, Patricia Myers of Taunton and Lynn Silveira of Lake Placid, Fl. He was also brother of the late Barry Silveira.
Arrangements are in the care of Crapo Hathaway Funeral Home.
The family plans to have a Celebration of Life this coming summer.
