Robert Roderiques

Reverend Robert Roderiques, Jr., 60, of New Bedford, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2018, at St. Luke's Hospital, in New Bedford, after a long battle with kidney disease.

He was the son of the late Robert Roderiques, Sr. and Adeline (Paulos) Roderiques. Born and raised in New Bedford, he moved to Taunton in 1990 and lived there for 22 years before returning to the area. He was a graduate of Salva Regina University, in Newport, RI; Northeast School of Ministry, in Taunton, MA: and Biblical Life College and Seminary in Dixon, Missouri. He received his Missionary credentials in 1996 from Love Gospel Assembly in the Bronx, NY followed by his Ministerial license in 1998.

Rev. Roderiques was a member of Crossroads Christian Center of Taunton for 17 years where he served on the Board of Elders and taught Sunday School. More recently he was a member of the Lifehouse Church in Middleboro where he oversaw several home bible studies. Among his interests, Rev. Roderiques enjoyed leading bible studies, reading and bird watching. He loved studying history, visiting museums and vacationing in Vermont.

He is survived by his sister, Pamela Avila and her husband Anthony; a nephew, Anthony Avila, Jr.; great nieces, Angelina and Ashlyn Avila; great nephew, Dominic Avila as well as many cousins and friends.

Calling hours are Wednesday, from 4-8pm, in the Donaghy-Hathaway Funeral Home, 465 County St., New Bedford.

His funeral will be celebrated at 10:00AM in the Christian Fellowship Center, 822 Church St., New Bedford, Thursday, September 6, 2018. Interment will follow in Rural Cemetery, New Bedford.
