Robert S. "Favas" Riggin, 50, of Fairhaven, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2019, at St. Luke's Hospital, in New Bedford, after a long illness.
Born in New Bedford, son of Charlene (Vieira) Riggin and the late Kenneth Riggin, he was a lifelong resident of the town and graduate of Fairhaven High School. Favas was a scalloper for many years on various area vessels.
He is survived by his mother; his beloved companion, Joanne; three sisters, Dawn Riggin of New Bedford, Julie Costa and her husband Derek and Amy DaSousa and her companion Mike Perry all of Fairhaven; six nieces and nephews, Chandler and Cordelia DaSousa, Nicole "Boo" Nunes, Felicity "Boo" Pacheco, Zachary Zykowicz and Allie Costa; a great aunt, Lula Wareing of New Bedford and uncle, Earl Rogers of Fairhaven; also cousins, Susan and Leo Ledoux of Dartmouth.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, May 18, 2019, at 9:30AM in St. Joseph's Church, in Fairhaven. Calling hours are omitted and interment will be private. Arrangements are by the Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Fairhaven.
