Priscilla A. (Pacheco) Ferris, 80, of Somerset, passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at the Clifton Skilled Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late Ferris J. Ferris. Priscilla was born in Dighton, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Domingos) Pacheco. She was a graduate of the Perkins School for the Blind and the Kinyon-Campbell Business School, in New Bedford. Mrs. Ferris devoted her life to raising her family and advocating for the blind at both the state and national levels. She was the past president of the Massachusetts Chapter for the National Federation of the Blind and a past vice president of the National Organization. Mrs. Ferris was a member of the Somerset Congregational Christian Church. Priscilla was active for over fifty-years with the Girls Scouts of America serving in a variety of leadership positions. Mrs. Ferris was also active with the Fall River Lions Club Carousel Chapter. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Clifton Skilled Nursing Center, in Somerset, and Arbors Assisted Living, in Taunton, for the care and compassion they provided to Priscilla and her family. Survivors are two daughters: Dr. Mary K. McCurry and her husband John of Somerset and Dr. Kathleen R. Ferris-Costa and her husband Thomas of Somerset; four grandchildren: Jessica, Ian, Thomas and Ferris; two brothers: Lawrence Pacheco of Florida; Joseph Pacheco of Maine; along with several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Irene Shutt and Arthur Pacheco.
