Paraschevi "Penny" Bassis passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 28, 2018, surrounded by her family. She was born in Krania, Greece, daughter of Vasilios Thanasouli and Maria (Dafulas) Thanasouli. Penny was the loving wife of the late Constantine A. Bassis.
Penny was a seamstress and an entrepreneur, opening her own fabric shop, Athenian Fabrics, in Attleboro. She was a devoted member of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Chrurch and St. Barbara's Philoptochos Society, in Pawtucket, R.I. Penny spent much of her life caring for her husband and family and adored her three grandchildren.
She is survived by her four children; daughters Elaine and Christine Bassis, both of Attleboro., sons Arthur C. Bassis of Estero, Florida, and Michael C. Bassis, his wife Karen, and her three grandchildren, Michelle, Melissa and Michael Jr, all of Plainville. She was the sister of the late Stella Tafilis of Volos, Greece.
A private church ceremony and burial service took place on July 31.
