Mildred R. (Leonard) Suspiro, 97, a resident of the Somerset Village for most of her life, passed away Monday Dec.24, 2018, at the Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the widow of Frank Suspiro.
Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Charles V. Leonard, Sr. and the late Clara (Bates) Leonard, she last worked as Accounts Payable Clerk for the Somerset School System; and before that as a clerk for the former Submarine Signal Co. division of Raytheon, in N. Dighton.
Mildred is remembered for her cooking, which she described as her favorite pass-time; her love and devotion to family; and for the many bowling leagues she participated in with her husband and for her love of dancing.
She is survived by two daughters, Elaine N. DePaola and her husband Stephen J. of Naples, FL, and Karen A. Leonard and her husband Michael J. of Somerset; five grandchildren, Lisa DePaola, Kim Martinez and her husband Geno, Dawn Klaver and her companion William Immondi, Kelly Borges and her husband Kyle, and Megan Neveux and her companion Tim Cabral; nine great grandchildren, Matthew Klaver, Jacob Klaver, Gabrielle Martinez, Cole Martinez, Cammi Arnold, Gavin and Nolan Borges, Camden and Allison Neveux; also many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by four siblings, Charles V. Leonard, Jr., Lloyd Leonard, Gladys Trefethen, and Ruth V. Leonard.
