Obituary

Mary Sousa, 88, formerly of Rehoboth, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 11, 2018.

Mary was born in Rehoboth and was a daughter of the late John and Filomena (Viera) Sousa.

Mary attended local area schools, graduated high school, and was employed as a receptionist for the Rotondo Corp., in Rehoboth, for many years until her retirement.

Mary was a long time communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, in Seekonk, and enjoyed being outdoors and traveling to visit her sister in Texas. Above all else, being with her family and acting as her father's caregiver through the years brought Mary much joy and purpose. She was always willing to help others and always treated her nieces and nephews as her own children.

She is survived by her brother, Raymond Sousa of CT; sister, Virginia Silvia of N. Dighton; many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews and a large loving extended family.

She was the sister of the late William, John, August, and George Sousa, and Agnes Sousa, Loretta Silvia and Norma Sousa.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at 11am, from the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave., Taunton, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 12pm, in St. Nicholas of Myra Church, 499 Spring St., N. Dighton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 201 from 4-7pm in the funeral home.
