Marjorie J. (Gooley) Ironfield, 94, a lifelong area resident, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 17 surrounded by her loving family, in the Sarah Brayton Nursing Center, Fall River. She was twice a widow of both Arthur Ironfield and of Henry Trimble.
Born in Somerset, a daughter of the late William Gooley and the late Amelia (Souza) Gooley, she worked as an office clerk for the former Edgar's Deptartment Store for many years. Marjorie was also talented as artist and seamstress, she loved to paint and made clothes for her children and grandchildren. She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed traveling to spend time with family.
She is survived by two daughters, Joan Vickrey and her husband Richard of Somerset, and Linda Stewart of California, MD; four grandchildren, Katherine Vickrey and David Aguiar, Lisa Gunter and her husband Robert, Laura Stewart, and Michael Stewart his wife Tiffany Kueher; five great grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew, Samuel, Harley and Hunter; as well as nieces and newphews. She was also sister of the late Lorraine Gooley and the late Mary Lou Gooley.
Private cremation services will be followed by inurnment at Palmer Street Cemetery, Somerset at a later date.
